X-Yachts of Haderslev builds high-quality sailing yachts with a welded steel keel frame, elaborate in construction and correspondingly valuable. The XP range is designed for racing, the Xc range for cruising. For yachts in this value class the agreed value is the decisive point.

Valuing an X-Yacht by year of construction does not match the market value: these yachts hold their value considerably better than production boats. Have the equipment, electronics and refit status reflected in the agreed value; in the Premium tariff it is unlimited and can be adjusted at any time. With the XP models, racing use should be disclosed.

What this means for the cover

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.

On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.

On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
