After the purchase of a used boat, disputes about defects or assurances sometimes arise. It adds the legal side to third-party liability and hull insurance.
The Olsen 34 has been built since 2004 and to this day, so that both new and used boats come into consideration. We insure irrespective of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The value is arranged as an agreed value, and full hull cover pays with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
On a sailing yacht the sail area rather than the engine output enters into the premium, along with the value, the year of construction and the cruising range. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online; above that we assess the individual case.

Olsen 34 is a sailing yacht from Wirz AG, built since 2004.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
