If a more powerful engine is fitted later, please tell us, so that the details in the contract are correct and the agreed value reflects the actual value of boat and engine.

Full hull cover covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, and indemnity is paid with no deduction for depreciation. The boat trailer is included at no extra premium, and cover applies during launching, during craning and in winter storage. Third-party liability ranges from 10 to 50 million euros.

How is an inflatable boat with an engine classified?

Through type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range. The brand plays no part. For full hull cover we arrange an agreed value that covers boat and engine together.

Can the models built since 2018 be insured straight away?

Yes. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online. An existing contract with another provider is cancelled by us free of charge through the switching service.

On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
