Vismara Marine; cover, cost and conditions
One-offs and modernised classics characterise the programme of Vismara Marine: alongside the V50 and V62 ranges since 2000 there is the field of refit and conversion, on record since 1995 to the present day, at lengths of 15 to 30 metres. For one-off builds the same applies with us as for series boats, and small production runs are insurable as well.
With a custom yacht there is no comparable price from a list. The agreed value is therefore agreed when the policy is taken out and paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). A refit changes this value, which is why conversions and new equipment belong in the schedule attached to the contract.
At lengths of 15 to 30 metres, sums insured quickly become large. Up to 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online; above that an individual assessment follows. For the rating, type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range count, and third-party liability extends to a limit of indemnity of 50 million euros.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How is a one-off build valued?
Through the agreed value, which is agreed when the policy is taken out. It is based on the schedule of hull, rig, technical systems and equipment and applies in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Does a refit have to be reported to the insurer?
Conversions and new equipment change the value and therefore belong in the schedule attached to the contract. Only in this way does the agreed value match the actual condition of the yacht in the event of a claim.

Series by Vismara Marine, with value and cover
Vismara V50 / V62 is a sailing yacht from Vismara Marine (Italy), built since 2000, and today changes hands at between €690,000 and €1,900,000.
Vismara Refit und Umbau is a sailing yacht from Vismara Marine (Italy), built since 1995, and today changes hands at between €190,000 and €1,400,000.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
