Tiara builds motor yachts between 10 and 14 metres in Michigan, open and coupe models with high build quality, originally as sportfishers and today as daycruisers and cruising yachts. In Europe they arrive through import, which matters for the valuation: the replacement value in Europe is higher than the US price because freight and import charges are added.
With Tiara yachts the engine installation is the second point. The boats run with inboard diesels or several high-powered outboards. With outboards the rule is that theft of parts is covered under full hull cover, provided there is a fastening that goes beyond the clamp screws. With three engines on the transom of a 13-metre yacht this is a value that justifies a fixed bolted mounting with a locking plate.
