Worth knowing
Teliga; cover, cost and conditions
After buying a used sailing yacht, some defects only show up on the first leg. One model range is recorded for Teliga, the Teliga 20, a sailing yacht of the years 1983 to 1990. For disputes after buying a used boat we also offer legal expenses cover for water sports.
It also applies in disputes with a yard, for example after work on the rig or on the hull. Independently of that, the boat insurance itself continues to run: third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, supplemented by limited hull cover or full hull cover with an agreed value.
Since production ended in 1990, a Teliga 20 today only comes on board second hand. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners; in the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit. The switching service cancels an existing previous policy free of charge.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
When does legal expenses cover for water sports help?
In a dispute after buying a used boat and in disputes with a yard. It is offered in addition to the boat insurance and changes nothing about the hull insurance.
Can a small sailing yacht without yard documents be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. What is required are details of the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range.

Series by Teliga, build years and cover
Teliga 20 is a sailing yacht from Teliga, built from 1983 to 1990.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
