Worth knowing
Speedoboat; cover, cost and conditions
A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium, and cover does not end at the slipway: launching, craning, transit and winter storage are included. The motor boat ranges 249, 250, 360 and 440 have been built since 2014 to this day.
Four ranges have continued without interruption since 2014, so that younger and older units stand side by side in the market. The same agreed value applies to both, holding the value that has been agreed and being settled with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
The premium results from type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range, never from the brand. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the trailer have to be included in the contract?
It is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. Transit, launching and craning are covered as well, without a further contract being needed for this.
Is it possible to take out the policy without an individual assessment?
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online. If the value is above that, an individual assessment follows. You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
