Worth knowing
Slyder Catamarans; cover, cost and conditions
The range comprises five series: the cabin catamarans Slyder 47, 49, 57 and 57 Elegance as well as the Slyder 59 as a sailing yacht. The 49 and the 59 have been in production since 2014 and 2015 respectively and are still built today, while the others ended between 2018 and 2020. We insure multihulls under the same boat insurance as monohulls.
If a contract already exists for the catamaran, we handle the switch: NAMMERT cancels the old contract free of charge, and the new cover follows on immediately. The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels.
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online, and above that we assess the case individually. You receive the international certificate of insurance in ten languages.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does switching to NAMMERT cost anything?
No. In the switching service we cancel the old contract free of charge. You submit the application and we take care of the cancellation, so that no gap arises between the contracts.
Does a separate rule apply to catamarans?
Multihulls run under the same boat insurance. The premium follows the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range, regardless of the make.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for catamarans and multihulls is the same across every brand; engine output, how a claim is settled, cruising range and theft protection. The class page lists every point and every brand in this class.

Slyder 59 is a sailing yacht from Slyder Catamarans, built since 2015.
Slyder 47 is a cabin catamaran from Slyder Catamarans, built from 2011 to 2020.
Slyder 57 is a cabin catamaran from Slyder Catamarans, built from 2013 to 2018.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
