Worth knowing
Seaco Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Anyone taking over a used motor yacht should record the value before the first passage. At Seaco Boats four ranges are recorded, the Seaco 780, 940, 1030 and 1100, with years of construction between 1993 and 2001. The agreed value determines what is paid in the event of a total loss.
Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), and in the Premium tariff the agreed value applies without any age limit. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, so that even a yacht from the nineties is admitted to full hull cover as a matter of course.
Production ended in 2001. When buying second-hand, legal expenses cover for water sports helps, covering disputes following the purchase of a used boat or with a yard. If a policy of your own is still running, we cancel it free of charge under the switching service.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What does full hull cover provide in the event of a total loss?
It pays according to the agreed value that has been set, with no deduction for depreciation. The value is thus fixed before the loss occurs, and in the Premium tariff the agreed value applies without any age limit.
Does the insurance help in a dispute after the purchase?
Legal expenses cover for water sports is offered alongside and applies in disputes following the purchase of a used boat as well as in a dispute with a yard.

Series by Seaco Boats, build years and cover
Seaco 780 is a motor yacht from Seaco Boats, built from 1993 to 2001.
Seaco 940 is a motor yacht from Seaco Boats, built from 1993 to 2001.
Seaco 1030 is a motor yacht from Seaco Boats, built from 1993 to 2001.
Seaco 1100 is a motor yacht from Seaco Boats, built from 1994 to 2001.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
