In Finland, Sargo builds cabin boats between 8 and 11 metres, enclosed pilothouse boats with inboard diesel engines, designed for year-round use in the northern Baltic. They are boats for people who go out in February as well. That is exactly what shapes the loss profile: frost, on-board heating, ice at the berth.
We cover frost damage where the boat has been properly prepared for winter. With year-round use that means frost protection during ongoing operation rather than laying up: coolant circuit with antifreeze, fresh water tank emptied, bilge dry. Ice at the berth is the second point. Ice pressure on the hull is a real loss and is covered under the full hull cover if the boat was lying at a berth customary for yachts. An unattended winter berth with no ice-clearing arrangement does not count as one.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
