Three sailing yacht ranges carry the name Sagitta: the 35, the 26 and the 9, built between 1967 and 1980. All three have been discontinued, and the yachts in existence are still sailing. We insure them irrespective of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, with an agreed value.
With yachts from the sixties and seventies, an arrangement based on current market value leads to open questions. Instead we agree an agreed value and pay with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). In the Premium tariff the full hull cover applies with no age limit, so that a Sagitta 9 too remains eligible for full hull cover.
Anyone taking over such a yacht second hand may come across defects. Legal expenses cover for water sports is offered alongside and carries disputes after buying a used boat or with a yard. Together with third-party liability and hull insurance, the legal side is thereby settled as well.

Frequent questions
What does agreed value mean with an old yacht?
The value is agreed when the contract is concluded and applies in the event of a claim. It is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), so that the year of construction does not reduce the indemnity.
Does the contract also cover legal disputes?
Legal expenses cover for water sports can be included. It applies in a dispute after buying a used boat or with a yard and supplements third-party liability and hull insurance.
