For trips across the border you carry the international certificate of insurance, which we issue automatically in ten languages. Two ranges are documented: the motor yacht Renesse from 1965 to 1973 and the sailing yacht Favorit I from 1965 to 1972.
Motor yacht and sailing yacht are classified differently. On the one the engine power counts, on the other the sail area, and to this are added the type of boat, the value, the year of build and the cruising range. In both cases the brand name has no influence on the premium.
Both build periods end at the beginning of the seventies. We insure regardless of year of build, place of purchase and previous owners, and the agreed value holds the value that has been agreed, with no deduction for depreciation, new for old. The cover also applies in winter storage, during craning and on the transport route.

Is the proof for foreign waters applied for separately?
No, the international certificate of insurance is issued automatically in ten languages. You set the cruising range when taking out cover, and it enters into the premium.
Do the same tariff levels apply to sailing and motor yachts?
Yes, Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium are open to both. The difference lies in the calculation: sail area on the sailing yacht, engine power on the motor yacht.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
