Worth knowing
Rebell; cover, cost and conditions
Nine ranges bear the name Rebell or are connected with it, among them Seaskip, Seaskip II and III, the 25, the 31, Mark-II and Regent, plus the Arabella 685 as a motorboat. The years of construction run from 1965 to 1997, so today's fleet is correspondingly second hand and the agreed value correspondingly important.
Anyone who is already insured and wishes to switch does not have to give notice themselves. NAMMERT cancels the previous contract free of charge. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the new policy is concluded online, above that we examine the case individually. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis.
On the sailing yachts of these ranges the sail area counts towards the premium, on the motorboat the engine power, in each case together with value, year of construction, type of boat and cruising range. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, in the Premium tariff with no age limit under full hull cover.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How do you move from a current policy to NAMMERT?
Through the switching service. NAMMERT cancels the previous contract free of charge and you take out the new one. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros this is possible online.
Does an age limit apply to a Seaskip from 1965?
Not under full hull cover in the Premium tariff. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, with an agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
