Worth knowing
Racaboat; cover, cost and conditions
One model range is recorded, the Racaboat Alu 380, listed as an inflatable boat without an engine with years of construction from 2014 to 2019. Further ranges are not available. What is insured is not the brand but the individual boat with its data, from the value through the year of construction to the cruising range.
At the beginning stands third-party liability. It can be chosen with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, graded across the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels, and covers damage suffered by third parties. Limited hull cover and full hull cover can be added depending on the value of the unit.
Limited hull cover bears fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard. A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can an inflatable boat without an engine be insured?
Yes. The Racaboat Alu 380 is classified like any other boat according to type of boat, value, year of construction, propulsion and cruising range. Third-party liability forms the basis of the policy.
Does cover also exist outside the water?
Yes, in winter storage, during craning, during launching and while the boat is being transported. Hull insurance knows neither a time window nor a night clause, and the policy runs around the clock.

Nautical information What counts before you cast off, papers, equipment, waters
Licence
Required inland and at sea from 15 hp (11.03 kW); below that, none.
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; carry the boat certificate on maritime shipping routes.
Waters
Inland lakes, the coast and the Wadden Sea, mind the tide tables and the fairway.
Equipment
Lifejackets, paddles, pump, repair kit, anchor gear and signalling equipment.
Cruising range
RIBs close to the coast; check air pressure before every trip and after temperature swings.
Weather
From Beaufort 4 the ride turns hard, and offshore wind sharply raises the risk of drifting.
General guidance, not a complete account; what governs are the rules of the waters you are on and your boat’s manual. Current wind force and direction for your waters are shown on the Home.
Series by Racaboat, build years and cover
Racaboat Alu 380 is an inflatable without engine from Racaboat, built from 2014 to 2019.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
Even without an engine the rule holds: a tear from impact or vandalism is covered, UV ageing is wear.
