Nuova Jolly Marine; cover, cost and conditions
Near Milan, Nuova Jolly builds the Prince range, RIBs between six and twelve metres that are widespread in Italian and Croatian marinas as day boats and yacht tenders. The larger models have a cabin, an inboard engine or several outboards and are worth considerably more than one would credit an inflatable boat with. Set the sum insured according to market value, not according to the type of construction.
With these boats the multiple engines are the issue in insurance terms. Two or three outboards mean multiple engine value, multiple theft risk and multiple maintenance requirements. State every engine number in the application, because if one of three engines is stolen the number decides how the claim is handled. A mechanical lock for each engine is part of sensible precaution.
For operation in Croatian and Italian waters the duty to provide proof applies: both countries require evidence of insurance, Croatia on request in the national language. The international certificate is enclosed with every policy in ten languages. Anyone who occasionally charters out their Prince, which is common in the Mediterranean, needs to register commercial use; without it there is no cover at all in the event of a charter.

May I charter out my Prince occasionally?
