Nitro Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Nitro is the bass boat brand of the Tracker group: flat, extremely fast GRP boats with seats at deck level, designed for fishing in fresh water. In Europe they are a niche phenomenon, but one that does occur on large lakes. In insurance terms bass boats are a special case: very high engine power on low weight, speeds above 100 km/h. The third-party liability premium follows the kW scale and is correspondingly higher than for a centre console boat of the same length.
On a bass boat the equipment is the second block of value: fish finders with chart plotters, bow-mounted trolling motors with a GPS anchor function, livewell systems. This electronic equipment is removably mounted and therefore exposed to theft. Full hull cover includes theft of parts if the boat was left secured. For declaring the value the rule is: electronics go into the accessories group, not into the boat value, then it is clear in the event of a claim what will be replaced.
