Worth knowing
Nimo Marin; cover, cost and conditions
Before a used motor yacht is handed over, the insured value should be settled. Two model ranges are recorded from Nimo Marin, the Nimo 260 and the Nimo 360, built between 1989 and 1999. We record the replacement value in the contract as the agreed value.
We have no further details about the range, and production lies in the past. The age changes nothing about the cover: we insure regardless of the year of build, the place of purchase and previous owners, and in the Premium tariff the agreed value applies with no age limit.
The third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, limited hull cover and full hull cover can be added.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What value is applied to a Nimo 360?
The agreed replacement value is recorded in the contract as the agreed value. In a claim it is the basis of the compensation, and a deduction for depreciation does not apply.
What changes when the yacht changes owner?
Previous owners and the place of purchase play no part in acceptance. What matters is the type of boat, value, year of build, engine power and cruising range, and the premium is based on these.

Series by Nimo Marin, build years and cover
Nimo 260 is a motor yacht from Nimo Marin, built from 1990 to 1999.
Nimo 360 is a motor yacht from Nimo Marin, built from 1989 to 1997.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
