Since 2010 three model ranges have been in production: the N650 and the N700 as sailing yachts as well as the N700K as a cabin catamaran. Alongside two monohulls there is thus a multihull in the programme. For both forms of construction the same basis applies at NAMMERT, namely third-party liability.
Its limit of indemnity ranges from 10 to 50 million euros, graded across the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium tiers. What you cause to third parties with a boat does not depend on whether it has one hull or two. Full hull cover and limited hull cover can be built on top of it.
For the premium, the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range count. Club races are included from Basis-Plus onwards, and you declare races with ranking status when the policy is taken out. You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.

Frequent questions
Does a catamaran cost more than a sailing yacht?
Not because of the form of construction as such. Calculation is by type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range. The brand stays out of the rating.
Which tiers are available to choose from?
Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. From Basis-Plus onwards club races are included, and in the Premium tier full hull cover applies with no age limit for the boat.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
