Worth knowing
MRCB; cover, cost and conditions
The MRCB motor sailer is listed as a sailing yacht, with years of construction from 1981 to 1990; no further ranges are on file. With us third-party liability stands at the beginning of every policy, selectable with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
Limited hull cover and full hull cover build on this basis. Limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage, and full hull cover additionally covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard.
A motor sailer combines sail and engine; what counts for the premium is the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range. Production ended in 1990, yet we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How high can the limit of indemnity be chosen?
Between 10 and 50 million euros, depending on the tariff level Basis, Basis-Plus or Premium. Third-party liability is the basis, and limited and full hull cover can be built on top of it.
Is there an age limit for full hull cover?
In the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit. Compensation follows the agreed value and is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

Series by MRCB, build years and cover
MRCB Motorsegler is a sailing yacht from MRCB, built from 1981 to 1990.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
