Worth knowing
Miller Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
A single model range is recorded for this brand, the motor yacht Trader 36 with model years from 1979 to 1986. Further models are not available and production has ended. A boat of that vintage changes owner second hand today, and it is insured regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
When buying second hand the question arises of what amount is available in the event of a total loss. Full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. The agreed value is therefore fixed when the policy is taken out and not only after an appraisal.
In addition, the legal expenses cover for water sports is offered, which applies in disputes after the purchase of a used boat or with a yard. What counts for the premium is type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output and cruising range, never the name of the yard. The boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a motor yacht from 1979 still have full hull cover?
Yes. In the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit. The indemnity follows the agreed value and is paid with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
What does the legal expenses cover help with after a purchase?
The legal expenses cover for water sports applies in disputes after the purchase of a used boat and in a dispute with a yard. It is offered in addition to the boat and yacht insurance.

Series by Miller Yachts, build years and cover
Trader 36 is a motor yacht from Miller Yachts, built from 1979 to 1986.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
