Worth knowing
Max Fun; cover, cost and conditions
A dispute after buying a used boat can be cushioned with the legal expenses cover for water sports, which we offer alongside the boat policy. For Max Fun one sailing yacht range is recorded, the Max Fun 35 with build years from 1999 to 2006; no further models are listed.
A boat from those years usually changes owners second hand. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners and record the replacement value as an agreed value, so that the full hull cover pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation.
What counts for the premium is the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range, never the brand. Club races are included from Basis-Plus onwards, races with scoring status are to be declared when taking out the policy. If a contract is already running, we cancel it free of charge under the switching service.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What does the legal expenses cover for water sports help with?
It is intended for disputes concerning the boat, for instance after buying a used boat or in a dispute with a yard, and can be taken out together with the boat insurance.
Do I have to cancel the previous contract myself?
No, we take care of that free of charge under the switching service. You give us the provider and the contract details, we handle the cancellation and align the start of the new cover with it.

Series by Max Fun, build years and cover
Max Fun 35 is a sailing yacht from Max Fun, built from 1999 to 2006.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
