Traditional Llaüt; cover, cost and conditions
The Llaüt is the traditional fishing boat of the Balearic Islands and the Catalan coast, a round-bilged displacement boat with a characteristic stem, today rebuilt in GRP and popular as a leisure boat. These are slow, decidedly seaworthy boats with a small diesel engine. The low speed is favourable for the premium: less damage energy, a lower hull risk than with a sports boat of the same length.
With a Llaüt there are two value groups that lie far apart: the modern GRP replica and the original wooden boat, often eighty years old and restored. With the wooden boat a valuation report is the basis of the agreed value, and the wood surcharge applies from a sum insured of 20,000 euros. With the GRP replica the normal route by way of purchase price or replacement value applies. Anyone berthed in the Mediterranean should choose the cruising range accordingly.

Licence

Registration

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
