Worth knowing
Libella; cover, cost and conditions
Twelve ranges are recorded, among them the Libella V 15, V 17, V 21, V 21 Super, V 23 and V 24 Luxus as well as the Präsident model. The years of construction lie between 1965 and 1988. Motor boats from this period spend part of the year ashore, and cover applies there too.
It applies in winter storage, during craning and launching and while the boat is in transit. The limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. The hull insurance has no time window and no night clause.
There is no information on sizes or on the focus of the shipyard, so we say nothing about it. What counts for the premium is type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range. In the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit, and compensation is based on the agreed value.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What happens in the case of storm damage inside a hall?
Damage in winter storage is part of the limited hull cover, as are fire, storm and lightning strike. If damage occurs during craning or launching, the cover also applies.
How old may a boat be for full hull cover?
In the Premium tariff there is no age limit. Boats from the sixties also receive hull insurance, and compensation is based on the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
