Lava Marine; cover, cost and conditions

Aluminium fishing boats are robust, light and easy to trailer, and that is precisely why they are moved around a great deal. The most frequent losses occur during transport and during launching; both are included with us, and the trailer is covered at no extra premium.

Aluminium means checking the anodes. Galvanic corrosion is wear and tear and not an insured loss, whereas a leak after a grounding is. Anyone who sails in salt water should rinse the boat after the season and check the anodes; that is the whole of the precaution needed.
