Worth knowing
Jenhal; cover, cost and conditions
On an inflatable boat the engine sits openly on the transom and can be removed quickly. A single model range is on record for Jenhal, the Jenhal RIB-580 model, an inflatable boat with an engine from the years 2007 to 2013. Theft of parts including the outboard is covered by full hull cover, and compensation is paid on the basis of the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
If the entire boat disappears, limited hull cover already applies. It also bears fire, storm, lightning strike and damage in winter storage. The boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Production ended in 2013, which is why only used units change hands today. We have no further details about the yard, and they are not needed for the contract. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and third-party liability is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the outboard of an inflatable boat have to be insured separately?
No. Theft of parts including the outboard is part of full hull cover. If the entire boat is stolen, limited hull cover applies. In each case compensation is paid on the basis of the agreed value.
Does the cover also apply at night at the berth?
Yes. Winter storage, craning, launching and the transport route to the water are likewise included.

Series by Jenhal, build years and cover
Jenhal RIB-580 is an inflatable with engine from Jenhal, built from 2007 to 2013.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
