Worth knowing
Jantar; cover, cost and conditions
Nine model ranges are recorded for Jantar, sailing boats and sailing yachts. The Jantar 21 ran from 1986 to 2005, the Jantar 23 Classic from 1994 to 2006 and the Pegaz 28 from 1999 to 2013. From our own portfolio, the Jantar 21 and the Venus 22 are insured with us.
Premium and cover are decided by type of boat, year of construction, value, engine power and cruising range, not by the name of the make. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In full hull cover you agree an agreed value, and in the event of a claim compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation.
The model ranges also include the Jantar 26 Race, built from 1994 to 2005. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the transport route, and the boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.

The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
