Janmor; cover, cost and conditions
The programme comprises 56 model ranges and extends from sailing boats and motor boats through to sailing yachts, built from 1999 to the present day. However different the boats may be, third-party liability always comes first. It ranges from 10 to 50 million euros limit of indemnity.
The Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels differ in scope and sum. From Basis-Plus onwards club races are included, which matters for the sailing boats and sailing yachts in the range. Races with scoring status are to be declared when taking out the policy.
For motor boats the engine power goes into the premium, for sailing boats the sail area, together with the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range in each case. The brand has no influence in either case. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you can take out the policy online.

Are sailing boats and motor boats rated differently?
Yes. For motor boats the engine power counts, for sailing boats the sail area. Type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range are taken into account in both cases, the brand is not.
What limit of indemnity is possible in third-party liability?
10 to 50 million euros, graded across the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Third-party liability is the basis, limited hull cover and full hull cover are added on top.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
