Worth knowing
Jago; cover, cost and conditions
An inflatable boat is recorded under the designation Rubber Dinghy, with years of construction from 2015 to 2021. No further model ranges are available. This is of no significance for the insurance cover, because classification is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range.
If a contract is already running for your boat with another provider, NAMMERT takes over the switch. The previous contract is cancelled free of charge, and you only report the data of the boat. The new contract starts in the chosen tariff level Basis, Basis-Plus or Premium.
With an inflatable boat too, the limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike, the theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. If an outboard is added, the full hull cover supplements this with theft of parts. A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How does the switch from another insurer work?
NAMMERT cancels the previous contract free of charge. You state the data of your boat and the desired tariff level, and we take care of the rest of the process.
Is theft insured as well?
The theft of the entire boat is part of the limited hull cover.

Nautical information What counts before you cast off, papers, equipment, waters
Licence
Required inland and at sea from 15 hp (11.03 kW); below that, none.
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; carry the boat certificate on maritime shipping routes.
Waters
Inland lakes, the coast and the Wadden Sea, mind the tide tables and the fairway.
Equipment
Lifejackets, paddles, pump, repair kit, anchor gear and signalling equipment.
Cruising range
RIBs close to the coast; check air pressure before every trip and after temperature swings.
Weather
From Beaufort 4 the ride turns hard, and offshore wind sharply raises the risk of drifting.
General guidance, not a complete account; what governs are the rules of the waters you are on and your boat’s manual. Current wind force and direction for your waters are shown on the Home.
Series by Jago, build years and cover
Rubber Dinghy is an inflatable without engine from Jago, built from 2015 to 2021.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
Even without an engine the rule holds: a tear from impact or vandalism is covered, UV ageing is wear.
