Worth knowing
Hugh Easton; cover, cost and conditions
A single range is recorded for Hugh Easton: the Starfish 8 motor yacht, built from 1991 to 1997. Production is therefore long past, and every boat today comes from a second or third owner. The agreed value records the agreed amount in the contract, regardless of the age of the hull.
With boats of this vintage the question of a deduction regularly arises in the event of a claim. We settle with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), and in the Premium tariff the agreed value applies with no age limit. We have no further details of size or origin, and we do not add anything here.
The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. If you are already insured elsewhere, use the switching service: NAMMERT cancels the previous contract free of charge, and the new cover follows on without a gap.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is there an age limit for full hull cover?
In the Premium tariff the agreed value applies with no age limit. Even with a boat from the nineteen nineties we pay out at the agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
What all belongs to limited hull cover?
Fire, storm, lightning strike, the theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts.

Series by Hugh Easton, build years and cover
Starfish 8 is a motor yacht from Hugh Easton, built from 1991 to 1997.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
