Worth knowing
HQL; cover, cost and conditions
Two motor boat ranges are recorded for HQL, the HQL 440 and the HQL 490, both built since 2019 and still today. No information on size, country or construction method is available, and more is not necessary for the contract either: what is insured is the specific boat with value, year of construction, engine power and waters, never the brand.
If a boat is trailered, the trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. During launching, during craning and on the transport route the cover continues, likewise in winter storage. Cover therefore does not end at the waterline but accompanies the boat through the entire season and the time before and after it.
In the full hull cover, collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard are covered; the limited hull cover takes on fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat. The hull cover knows no time window and no night clause, regardless of where the boat happens to be lying.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Do I have to register the trailer separately?
The boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. Name it when taking out the policy so that it appears in the contract. No additional premium is charged for it.
Does cover also apply on the road?
Yes, on the transport route cover applies just as during launching, during craning and in winter storage. The hull cover is not limited to the time in the water.

Series by HQL, build years and cover
HQL 440 is a motorboat from HQL, built since 2019.
HQL 490 is a motorboat from HQL, built since 2019.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
