Hacker-Craft stands for mahogany runabouts from New York and still builds wooden boats by hand today. Recorded are the Runabout 22 and 27 model ranges as well as the Sport 30 and 40, with lengths from 6 to 12 m. The Runabout line goes back as far as 1920, a year of construction that does not stand in the way of cover with us.
When buying a used wooden boat, what counts is what replacement would cost. We record this amount as an agreed value and pay it in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. There is then no need to negotiate about current market values when it matters.
Wooden boats spend part of the year ashore. Cover applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and along the transport route, with no time restriction and no night clause. Limited hull cover additionally includes fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat.

Does a very early year of construction matter?
We insure regardless of the year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. For the calculation, type of boat, value, engine output and cruising range count, not the age in itself.
