In Italy, at Cantiere del Pardo, Grand Soleil builds sailing yachts between 10 and 20 metres, sporty cruising yachts with racing genes, many of them actually sailed in competition. The yard builds with vacuum infusion and, on the performance models, with carbon reinforcement.
Two points are relevant for Grand Soleil owners: carbon can be insured with us against an additional premium, because repairs are structural work. And racing requires an express agreement, it is not automatically included. The most frequent competition damage is damage to sails and rig; anyone who races regularly should also check whether racing sails and additional equipment are reflected in the sum insured.
