Worth knowing
Fidego; cover, cost and conditions
Ten model ranges are recorded, among them the Fidego 800, 900, 920, 950, 1020, 1100 and 1180 as well as the Holiday 850. The years of construction lie between 1966 and 1985, and the individual ranges are listed as motor yachts. Anyone taking over such a vessel today does so on the used market and needs a contract that does not exclude its age.
After buying a used boat, disputes often arise only weeks later, for example about promised equipment or work carried out. NAMMERT also offers legal expenses cover for water sports, which applies in disputes following the purchase of a used boat or with a boatyard. It can be held together with third-party liability and hull insurance.
An agreed value is set for the hull cover, compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), and in the Premium tariff there is no age limit. The cover also applies in winter storage, during craning and launching and while the boat is in transit. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros remains the basis.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What does the legal expenses cover for water sports include?
It applies in disputes following the purchase of a used boat or with a boatyard. It is offered in addition to the boat insurance and can be taken out together with third-party liability and hull insurance.
Can vessels built in 1966 be insured?
Yes. We provide cover regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. An agreed value is set for the full hull cover, and in the Premium tariff it applies with no age limit.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
