Worth knowing
Fiberglas-Technik; cover, cost and conditions
Five model ranges are documented, all of them under sail: the Conger from 1972 to 2022, the Monarch until 2007, plus the sailing yachts Delphin 80, Seekreuzer 8,2 and Delphin 66, the oldest of which starts as early as 1967. A programme like this brings boats of very different ages into one and the same policy.
Sailing boats spend a large part of the year ashore. The cover also applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the road during transport; limited hull cover additionally covers fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat.
A Conger is one of the boats we insure. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy. For sailing boats the premium is based on sail area, value, year of construction and cruising range, never on the name of the brand.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is a club race with a Conger covered?
From the Basis-Plus tariff upwards club races are included. Races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy, so that the cover fits and there is clarity in the event of a claim.
What is covered during the time in winter storage?
The insurance cover applies in winter storage just as it does during craning and launching. There limited hull cover pays for damage caused by fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the entire boat.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

Series by Fiberglas-Technik, build years and cover
Conger is a sailing boat from Fiberglas-Technik, built from 1972 to 2022.
Monarch is a sailing boat from Fiberglas-Technik, built from 1980 to 2007.
Delphin 80 is a sailing yacht from Fiberglas-Technik, built from 1977 to 1989.
Seekreuzer 8,2 is a sailing yacht from Fiberglas-Technik, built from 1972 to 1989.
Delphin 66 is a sailing yacht from Fiberglas-Technik, built from 1967 to 1985.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
