Worth knowing
Fenix; cover, cost and conditions
Two motor yachts appear in the list for Fenix, the 29 Aft Cabin and the 29 Inspector, both built from 1981 to 1989. Above both stands the same basis in every policy, namely third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels.
The level of the limit of indemnity depends not on the age of the boat but on the waters sailed and on your own need for security. Damage to another boat or to a harbour installation can quickly reach that sum, regardless of whether the yacht dates from the year 1981 or from the year 1989.
Full hull cover and limited hull cover build on the third-party liability. The full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, so that a Fenix 29 with a long history is written into a policy too.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Which levels are there in the third-party liability cover?
Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium, with limits of indemnity from 10 to 50 million euros. From Basis-Plus upwards, club races are included in the cover.
Does a yacht from the eighties get a lower limit of indemnity?
No. The limit of indemnity in the third-party liability cover does not depend on the year of construction. You choose the level that suits the waters you sail and your requirements.

Series by Fenix, build years and cover
Fenix 29 Aft Cabin is a motor yacht from Fenix, built from 1981 to 1989.
Fenix 29 Inspector is a motor yacht from Fenix, built from 1981 to 1989.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
