Dufour Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Dufour, based in La Rochelle, builds sailing yachts with a sporty cut; the Grand Large range as a cruising yacht, the Performance models with racing ambitions. The sail area is what counts for the contract, and with the Performance versions the question of racing use is added.
Club races are included from the Basis-Plus tariff upwards. Anyone who sails with scoring says so when taking out the policy; an open declaration costs a surcharge, an undisclosed one costs the benefit in the event of a claim. Rig and sails are covered under full hull cover, wear and tear never is: on sailing yachts, maintenance records for the standing rigging are the most effective way to avoid discussions.
