Duffy has been building electric boats in California since the seventies and helped establish the category: covered, slow boats for lakes and sheltered coastal waters, found in Europe above all on inland lakes where combustion engines are banned. Precisely these waters are the reason electric boats are bought: Bavarian lakes, Lake Constance and many nature reserve waters allow electric propulsion only.
For the policy this means first of all: no fuel, no petrol fire, no oil damage, a part of the classic boat risks falls away. Its place is taken by the battery. On older Duffys these are lead acid banks, on newer ones lithium; both are covered, but with different requirements for installation and charging. If an older boat is converted to lithium, the rule is: report it, have it installed properly, keep the invoice.
The third topic is the berth. Electric boats often lie in boathouses or under roofs because they are used all year round, and in the event of fire a boathouse is a different risk from an open jetty. State the type of berth in your application. With boathouses the question of charging infrastructure is added: charge at a properly fused connection, not via an extension lead.

Why an electric boat on Bavarian lakes?
Because combustion engines are prohibited there. That is a question of the waters, not of insurance; the policy covers the agreed cruising range regardless of the propulsion.
What applies when charging in a boathouse?
