Worth knowing
Dockrell Yachts Ltd.; cover, cost and conditions
Anyone wishing to switch their contract does not have to give notice themselves. For Dockrell Yachts Ltd. four ranges are recorded, the Dockrell 17, 22, 27 and 37, built between 1978 and 1994. When you switch to us we cancel the previous contract free of charge and set up the new protection.
The four ranges comprise smaller sailing boats as well as sailing yachts. The premium is based on the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range. Because production ended back in 1994, the agreed value is the point you should examine afresh when switching.
A switch is also the right moment to update the tariff tier and the cruising range. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with official scoring status are declared when you take out the policy. The trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium, and the protection also applies during launching and in winter storage.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Who takes care of the cancellation when switching?
We do that. NAMMERT cancels the previous contract free of charge, and you only supply the details on the boat, value and cruising range. The new protection follows on directly from it.
Should the value be set anew when switching?
That makes sense, because the indemnity depends on the agreed value. Examine the value together with the permanently installed equipment before the new contract begins.

Series by Dockrell Yachts Ltd., build years and cover
Dockrell 17 is a sailing boat from Dockrell Yachts Ltd., built from 1988 to 1994.
Dockrell 27 is a sailing yacht from Dockrell Yachts Ltd., built from 1985 to 1992.
Dockrell 22 is a sailing boat from Dockrell Yachts Ltd., built from 1985 to 1991.
Dockrell 37 is a sailing yacht from Dockrell Yachts Ltd., built from 1978 to 1991.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
