Worth knowing
Dancer; cover, cost and conditions
Two closely related ranges are on file, the Barracuda 1000 and the Barracuda 1000 Fly, built from 1989 to 1997. Production has ended. For the insurance this means: valuation is done through an agreed value, not through a new price that no longer exists for these models.
Many motor yachts spend the winter ashore. The cover also applies in winter storage, during craning and on the road during transport, and the limited hull cover carries damage that occurs in winter storage, as well as fire, storm, lightning strike and the theft of the whole boat.
In the third-party liability a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros is available depending on the tariff level. Full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. A boat from 1989 can thus be covered just as well as a new one.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is damage in winter storage insured as well?
Yes. Winter storage damage belongs to the limited hull cover, as do fire, storm, lightning strike and the theft of the whole boat. Cover also exists during craning and on the road during transport.
How is a Barracuda 1000 Fly from 1994 valued?
Through an agreed value that is agreed when the policy is taken out. In the event of a claim we pay with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit in the full hull cover.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
