Worth knowing
Corsair Farrier; cover, cost and conditions
Two model ranges are recorded, the F-27 / F-31 and the F-24 / F-25, built between 1985 and 2010. These are folding trimarans to a Farrier design from the USA with lengths of 7 to 10 m that can be trailered. Part of the risk therefore shifts to the road.
A boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium, and cover applies during transport, launching, craning and in winter storage. If you change your cruising area regularly, you do not need a separate contract for this, the cover follows the boat.
The premium is based on type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range. Full hull cover pays out on the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Club races are included from the Basis-Plus level upwards.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Do I have to insure the trailer separately?
No, the boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. The transport itself is also covered, as are launching, craning and the time in winter storage.
What role does the cruising range play for a trailerable trimaran?
The cruising range is one of the premium factors. If you regularly switch between inland waters and the coast, we record this in the contract so that cover applies everywhere.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for your boat depends less on the brand than on engine output, how a claim is settled and the waters you sail.

Series by Corsair Farrier, with value and cover
F-27 / F-31 (Farrier) is a cabin trimaran from Corsair Farrier (the USA), built from 1985 to 2010, and today changes hands at between €45,000 and €120,000.
F-24 / F-25 is a cabin trimaran from Corsair Farrier (the USA), built from 1990 to 2010, and today changes hands at between €35,000 and €90,000.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On a trimaran the floats and their beams are the weak point, on folding models the mechanism as well.
