The Venezia line comes in 22, 25, 28 and 31 feet, each as Classic, Elegance, Sport or Wooden. Build years run since 2002, lengths from 5.5 to 11.8 m.
On these boats the value sits in the surface. Varnished mahogany, chrome fittings and leather upholstery are demanding to restore, and damage that would be a filler and gelcoat job on a composite boat means weeks of handwork here. The sum insured must reflect that finish, otherwise it covers only part of the loss.

Is the varnish finish of a wooden boat covered after damage?
Yes, if the damage results from an event. Ageing, greying and flaking caused by weather are not covered, as they count as wear. An equipment list with photographs of the condition helps to tell the two apart.
What separates the Classic, Elegance and Sport versions?
They differ in superstructure, equipment and engine, not in hull length. For the premium it is therefore less the version that counts than the actual engine power and the value of the individual boat.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
