Are leaking seams a claim?
No, they develop over years and count as wear. What is covered are sudden events, such as a tear from a collision. The condition should, however, be reflected in the sum insured.
The engine is newer than the boat. How do I state that?
Give the build year and value of boat and engine separately. On old inflatables the outboard often makes up the larger share of the total value, and only what is stated is replaced.
