Worth knowing
Caliber Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Three sailing yacht ranges are recorded for Caliber Yachts: the 35LRC and the 47LRC with years of construction from 2001 onwards, as well as the 40LRC, which has been built since 1993 and up to the present day. Anyone sailing across national borders with such a yacht receives the international certificate of insurance from us automatically in ten languages.
More than three decades of continuous production means that the years of construction lie far apart. For the premium, type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range count, never the name of the yard. Whether inland waters or coast, you set the cruising range when taking out the policy and can have it adjusted.
Full hull cover pays on the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation and covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard. Limited hull cover applies in cases of fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. There is no time window involved.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
In which languages is the proof of insurance available?
We issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages. This lets you present the proof in harbours outside Germany without any further translation.
Does the engine output count for a sailing yacht?
For sailing yachts the sail area is used in the calculation instead of the engine output. Added to this are type of boat, value, year of construction and the chosen cruising range.
The cover that fits
For the whole class of boat
What matters for sailing boats and sailing yachts is the same across every brand; engine output, how a claim is settled, cruising range and theft protection. The class page lists every point and every brand in this class.

Series by Caliber Yachts, build years and cover
Caliber 35LRC is a sailing yacht from Caliber Yachts, built since 2001.
Caliber 40LRC is a sailing yacht from Caliber Yachts, built since 1993.
Caliber 47LRC is a sailing yacht from Caliber Yachts, built since 2001.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
