Large RIBs of 9 to 12 m such as the BSK range fall between two categories: they are used like motor yachts but built as inflatables. For the policy this means that hull type, engines and value must be stated precisely, because tubes and hull are treated differently in a claim. The cruising area also belongs clearly in the contract, since boats of this size are often used in the Mediterranean. If the Desire 120S runs as the tender to a larger yacht, that use should appear in the application.

As a rigid inflatable. The tubes are recorded separately, because they are valued differently from the solid hull in a claim.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
