Worth knowing
Befoil; cover, cost and conditions
For this brand a single range is recorded, the Befoil 16, an open catamaran, built since 2017 and to this day. No further model ranges are available. Regardless of that, every contract with us begins with third-party liability, which is offered with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
Full hull cover can be built on top of it and covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, paying compensation on the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). Limited hull cover is confined to fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage.
Because production continues to this day, you will come across new as well as used units. What counts for the premium is the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range, never the brand. Club races are included from Basis-Plus, and races with ranking status you state when taking out the policy.
Questions and answers

With third-party liability. It is the basis of every contract and is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
Does the cover also apply abroad?
Yes. We issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages, so that you can present the proof in foreign harbours and during checks.

Series by Befoil, build years and cover
Befoil 16 is an open catamaran from Befoil, built since 2017.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repairs are predictable. Still, set the value at replacement cost, including sails, rigging or gear you bought later.
Open catamarans are beached and trailed, so most damage happens ashore and in transit, not on the water.
