How is a skerry cruiser valued?
Through an agreed fixed value based on a survey. Condition, originality, rig and state of restoration all feed into it. The value is then settled in advance and is not renegotiated after a loss.
Is rot in a wooden hull a claim?
No, it develops over time and counts as wear. What is covered are sudden events. That is why on wooden boats regular checks of the bilge, deck penetrations and paintwork are also an insurance matter.
