The Avon Searider is the RIB that made this type of boat known: originally built for sea rescue services and public authorities, with a deep V hull and tubes made of Hypalon. Used Seariders continue in private hands today, often with a considerably stronger engine than the factory version. That is exactly what has to be reported, as the power output in kW is the basis for calculating the premium.
Hypalon tubes last considerably longer than PVC, but they age as well. Sudden damage from a cut, a collision or vandalism is covered, while porous seams after thirty years are wear and tear. If a tube has been newly re-covered, the invoice belongs in the valuation, because it is a substantial part of the current value.
Many Seariders come into private ownership as former authority or rescue boats. For the insurance, the previous use is not an exclusion, it simply belongs in the statement of value. The engine with its power output and serial number and the trailer with its value complete the contract, and the trailer is included at no extra premium.
