On these boats the tube material is more than a technical detail. Hypalon resists sun and salt better than PVC and ages more slowly, which shows in the value of a used boat. What is the difference between Hypalon and PVC?
Hypalon resists UV and salt water better and lasts longer, while PVC is lighter and cheaper. For insurance it is not the material itself that counts but the condition and the value derived from it.
What is an air deck?
A high pressure inflatable floor instead of a solid floor of wood or aluminium. It makes the boat lighter and quicker to stow. For premium and cover what counts is length, engine power, value and cruising area.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
