Worth knowing
Antares Yachts (Canada); cover, cost and conditions
For the Antares 44 there is a single model range, built between 2000 and 2012 as a cabin catamaran. New units are no longer produced from it, and the existing fleet changes hands on the used market. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, so that hulls sold several times also obtain cover.
A cabin catamaran spends part of the year ashore. Our cover also applies in winter storage, during craning, during launching and on the transport route. Limited hull cover additionally carries fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage occurring during storage.
The basis of every contract is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. The premium depends on type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range, never on the brand. An existing trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Which losses are covered while the catamaran is ashore?
In winter storage the cover continues to apply. Limited hull cover comprises fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage during storage, as well as craning and launching.
Can a catamaran from the year 2000 be run with full hull cover?
Yes. In the Premium tariff the agreed value applies without an age limit, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"). Collision, grounding and vandalism are included.

Series by Antares Yachts (Canada), build years and cover
Antares 44 is a cabin catamaran from Antares Yachts (Canada), built from 2000 to 2012.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part, and the berth belongs in the application: double width often means a mooring rather than a marina.
