Worth knowing
Ancasta Marine Ltd.; cover, cost and conditions
Four model ranges are recorded, all under the name Seastream: the 34 from 1975 and the 43 in three versions, the earliest record of which goes back to 1963. The last range ends in the year 2000, and production has ceased. Anyone taking over such a yacht today is buying second-hand and needs a reliable determination of value for it.
That is exactly why we work with an agreed value: the figure set is stated in the policy, and full hull cover pays with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"). In the Premium tariff it applies with no age limit, so that even a yacht from the seventies or eighties receives full hull cover.
Before taking the boat over, it is worth looking at the legal expenses cover for water sports that we also offer. It bears the cost of a dispute after the purchase of a used boat or with a boatyard. If a policy is already running with another provider, NAMMERT cancels the old contract free of charge as part of the switching service.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a Seastream 34 from the seventies still be given full hull cover?
Yes. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. The basis is the agreed value, which fixes the compensation amount in advance.
How are races with the boat covered?
Club races are included from Basis-Plus onwards. Please state races with official scoring status when taking out the policy, so that they are expressly named in the contract and covered in the event of a claim.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
